Live Rich, Die Broke
Stephen Pollan's secrets to a life of true wealth
by Arthur Greenwald

For a guy born six months before the great stock market crash of 1929, Stephen Pollan has a remarkably Gen-X and Y outlook on money and employment. One of America's foremost finance and career coaches, Pollan's advice to new college grads and middle-aged baby boomers is the same: be a mercenary on the job, find fulfillment in your private life, and die broke.
Die broke? What kind of financial guidance is that? Very persuasive advice when Pollan explains it. His no-nonsense, practical style has made him a popular guest with everyone from Oprah to PBS. A practicing attorney, Pollan's been a correspondent and contributor to CNBC and The Wall Street Journal Report. When not counseling private clients or corporations like AT&T, Pollan writes a monthly column for Working Woman magazine and is a contributing editor to Personal Finance. He's also the best-selling author of Die Broke and the new Live Rich.
The rest of Pollan's family is just as accomplished. Wife Corky's "Best Bets" column is a highlight of New York magazine. Two daughters have put successful businesses on hold to raise families. Son Michael Pollan is an author and editor-at-large at Harper's magazine. And third daughter Tracy is an actress and married to actor Michael J. Fox. Stephen and Corky have nine grandchildren to dote on.
So if Stephen and all the other Pollans can "live rich," what about all the rest of us? Read on...
