Right out of college in the '80s, Tim Smith's knack for sizing up high-tech companies made him a hot recruiting prospect. But for someone who hails from a family of artists, having a front row seat on Silicon Valley's greatest successes and failures simply wasn't enough.
So he did what many dream of: left his job for a year of recreation and reflection, and returned with a business plan. He started a company devoted to pushing the creative limits of real-world technology, and designed art in the service of content. Today Smith's Red Sky Interactive is famous for creating some of the coolest sites and tools online.
