Laura Oftedahl traveled to Innsbruck, Austria and Lyon, France for international cross-country skiing and cycling competitions. Innsbruck, along with other alpine Austrian and Swiss locations, are some of the world's top spots for both cross-country and downhill skiing. In France, home of the world-renowned Tour de France month-long bike race, only soccer rivals cycling as the country's most beloved sport. Lyon, France's second-largest city, is often referred to as the gastronomic capital of the world.
Oftedahl's love of cross-country skiing can in part be attributed to her ancestry, which is Norwegian and Danish. Also known as Nordic skiing, cross-country skiing originated in Scandanavia. Laura also loves warm climates, and has traveled to St. Croix and Aruba.
