Although Arlene has most recently explored the Volcano and Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii, her favorite destinations include Kathmandu, Nepal, India, Tonga, New Zealand and, not surprisingly, any other mountainous area. Don't leave home without the water bottle and water purification tablets, she admonishes. And, she says, be a good citizen when you travel abroad: "Learn as much about the culture and language of the place where you will be traveling in advance."
