Event: ZineZone - Russell Brown
Transcript
OrCCCa: Welcome Everyone! The Talk City Network (tm) and ZineZone.com (tm)welcome you to chat tonight with Russell Brown. Creative director at Adobe Systems, spontaneous adventurer and dad, Russell Brown wants to play with all the toys before his kids can. Without further ado . . Russell Brown, welcome to ZineZone & Talk City!
RussellBrown: Greetings! Glad to be here tonight!
SueDM says: Welcome, Russell! Tell us, what, exactly, do you do for Adobe?
RussellBrown: What I do is often indescribable. My official title is senior creative director, but my real title is design evangelist! I travel the world telling the world why they cannot possibly live without Adobe's products. The reason I chose creative director as a title, is that it is a title someone called the "Radford Match" developed when I came to Adobe 14 years ago. For some strange reason, there is a category in management for creative director, while there is not for a self-titled evangelist.
Harley123: What's the next big desktop thing?
RussellBrown: That is most definitely Adobe InDesign. That is going to be hot, hot, HOT! It is going to scare a company in Boulder, Colorado, called Quark. It used to be called K2. It will ship in July; you can go to the Adobe website today and see more about it. It will truly be a major shift in page layout and any designer should check it out at www.adobe.com and link to information about InDesign.
