on BBC television a few years ago. I think in film terms, he has tended to have relatively small parts. He had a small part in the remake of 101 Dalmatians. He has a movie coming out at the end of the year called Stuart Little.Krrristinamarie says: Is there any hope at all for us [Monty] Pythonites of seeing anyone we know in the new film?
Douglas Adams: Not that I can think of. There is a relatively small part that maybe John [Cleese] could do if he wants to do it -- the man from The Council at the beginning. He would be very good at that. John is a great comic genius. I think just finding an odd little part in the movie to have him in it would not be the best possible use of him.
AGRAJAG says: Are you going to try and avoid using too many American actors?
Douglas Adams: I think we need to go for an international mix of actors.
R2H says: There are so many books in the HHGG series - are you adapting bits from all of them into this movie?
Douglas Adams: Just the first book. Of course, if the movie is a success, then I very much hope we will go on to make further books into movies.
Arthurs_mom says: Will Fenchurch be in the movie? Or will Arthur continue to waste his time on Trillian?
Douglas Adams: Fenchurch doesn't appear until the 4th book in the series.
guest-spectrum says: Who will be doing the special effects for the movie?
Douglas Adams: I don't know. I can't really answer all questions until the script is agreed by everyone and we are in pre-production. Certainly there is one person that I would love to have the opportunity of working with who is Douglas Trumbull. I have met with him and we have a lot of thinking in common. Douglas Trumbull did the special effects for 2001. He directed Brainstorm. He was the head of the IMAX Corporation for a while.
Kelly1 says: Would you like to have Dave Gilmour do the music for the movie?
Douglas Adams: I thought of David just the other day actually. He was playing with Paul McCartney at the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals party. David is a good friend. Who knows? That's basically the answer. David is not interested in doing movie soundtracks. On the other hand, if I asked him here is a particular scene, that might tempt him.
AGRAJAG says: Is there a chance Stephen Moore will play Marvin again?
Douglas Adams: I would very much hope so, and if it wasn't Stephen, I might volunteer to do the voice myself.
guest-Notzaphod says: I heard that Mike Myers got the rights for HHGTG?
Douglas Adams: Nonsense. I think that's a garbled version of the fact that the movie is being directed by Jay Roach, who directed the Austin Powers movies. That's the only connection. Mike Myers has nothing to do with it. You can't believe everything you read. People levy a criticism of the Web
