Although Nick is from Canada originally, he moved to Europe for a while, and lived in Greece, Sweden, London and Paris before coming to the United States and eventually settling in San Francisco, where he started Joe Boxer in 1985. Company business has taken him all over the States, from Los Angeles to New York, but Nick cites his Reykjavik, Iceland runway show as his favorite publicity campaign.
